Windows connection to Ivanti (Pulse) VPN

Install
  1. Download from Software Download page
  2.  Save the file. All download files are zipped you will need to extract them before you install. 
    • To extract a zip file:  right-click  it and select Extract All. 
  3. Double click on the extracted file (msi) and follow the install instructions.

Create a connection
  1. Once installed you should see the Ivanti Secure icon in the status bar. Click on it and select open Ivanti Secure. 
  2. Click on the add symbol in the top right, Fill-in the following: 
    • Name: pulse.lincoln.ac.nz 
    • URL:  https://pulse.lincoln.ac.nz

Connecting
  1. Click connect. 
  2. Put your email address, and password. 
  3. Popup will ask "Stay signed in?" click Yes or No 
  4. Once connected, minimise the Ivanti window. It will continue to run in the background.

Apple Mac Connection to Ivanti (Pulse) VPN

Install
  1. Download Apple Mac VPN client off the Software Download page. 
  2. Double click on the installer file. 
  3. This will map a drive to the desktop which we will remove later. 
  4. Open PulseSecure.pkg and follow the install instructions. 
  5. Finally you want to remove the Pulse Secure 22.2.1.1295 mapped drive.
    • You do this by right clicking on it and select Eject.

Create a connection
  1. Once installed you should see the Ivanti Secure Access client icon in the status bar. Click on it and select open Pulse Secure.
  2. Click on the add symbol in the bottom left to and a new VPN connection.
  3. Enter the following details and press add:
    • Name the connection: Lincoln VPN
    • Server Name is: pulse.lincoln.ac.nz

Connecting
  1. Now click Connect. 
  2. Enter your email address, and password and press connect. 
  3. Popup will ask "Stay signed in?" click Yes or No 
  4. The Ivanti Secure Access client orange icon in the status bar will change to a key with a little green corner once it has successfully connected.
